Beyond the Body: The World of Marina Abramović

Beyond the Body is a lecture by poet, essayist, lecturer, and experimental artist Leyli Salayeva, exploring the world of Marina Abramović and the boundaries she has challenged throughout her work.

From confronting pain and fear to testing the perception of time and the relationship between artist and audience, Abramović turns the human body and presence into instruments of art.

The lecture will also draw a connection between art and our own lives through “Remember a Miracle” — a short exercise inspired by Salayeva’s autobiographical book Creating Meanings, inviting us to look back at something that once seemed impossible, but became real.

A conversation about limits, presence, transformation, and the possibility of seeing the extraordinary in what has already happened to us.
