Join us for an immersive cultural and culinary journey — Flavors of China!
This special experience invites guests to discover the depth and beauty of Chinese gastronomy, art, and philosophy through a series of engaging activities designed to awaken curiosity and connection.
The evening begins with a guided visit to a Chinese grocery store, where participants will learn how to select authentic ingredients and gain insight into the essentials of Chinese cooking — from spices and sauces to regional culinary secrets.
Afterward, guests will take part in a calligraphy session led by Aylar Choshanova, who will introduce participants to the refined art of Chinese calligraphy. Under her guidance, each guest will create their first character in the Lìshū (clerical) style — one of the classical forms of Chinese script. Using traditional materials such as brushes, ink, inkstones, and Xuanpaper, participants will experience not only the creative process but also the meditative beauty and philosophy behind this timeless art.
The event will conclude with a Chinese dining experience, offering guests the opportunity to explore the flavors and textures of authentic Chinese cuisine — a celebration of taste, craftsmanship, and cultural harmony.
Our special guests, Wen Rong and Ke Liu, will share their personal insights into Chinese art, lifestyle, and traditions.
Originally from China, Wen Rong is an artist and designer with a deep passion for beauty, creativity, and food. Having lived in Baku with her family, she brings warmth and authenticity to every story she tells about Chinese life and cuisine.
Ke Liu, educated in the UK and now based in Baku, is dedicated to fostering cross-cultural understanding and global connection. Her enthusiasm for learning and exchange adds an international perspective to this meaningful cultural dialogue.
